In this bi-weekly update from our Business Development team, we are excited to report significant growth in our network, as the number of interested companies, developers, and developer studios has risen from 77 to 117. Of these, 14 are currently in advanced discussions. Furthermore, our team has more than doubled the number of productive meetings and calls, increasing from 92 to 181. These interactions hold great potential for forging various types of partnerships that will benefit Catheon.
Through our ongoing conversations with gaming companies and studios, we have gained valuable insights into the key trends and challenges within the industry. One emerging trend is the growing interest in web3 and blockchain gaming, with some studios having already been developing games in this domain since 2018. Developers are increasingly drawn to card-battler games and play-to-earn (P2E) models, with certain studios even transitioning from traditional free-to-play games to web3 games.
As a result, there is a burgeoning interest in partnerships and collaborations, as companies explore ways to integrate web3 and blockchain technology into their existing portfolios. This has prompted discussions about various partnership opportunities, encompassing co-marketing, consulting, and platform listings.
On the flip side, game studios face challenges related to funding and revenue generation. Some are in the early stages of fundraising or are seeking the backing of venture capitalists to propel their projects forward. Additionally, studios are searching for methods to expand their user base, often turning to marketing or distribution partners to help accelerate growth.
Lastly, our conversations have revealed that quality is a concern for some studios, as certain game offerings may be perceived as low quality, potentially hindering their success in the market. This underlines the importance of investing in high-quality game development to maintain a competitive edge within the industry.
